Qualifications
Valuing lifelong learning, Carolyn is an experienced Clinical and Organisational Psychologist, registered with AHPRA, and a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), the APS College of Organisational Psychologists (COPS), and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. As well as being an endorsed Organisational Psychologist, she holds a Master of Clinical Psychology (Post Registration) and is endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA. Carolyn is also a board-approved supervisor, registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
Carolyn is a full member of the Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Association of Australia (EMDRAA) and an accredited EMDR Practitioner, having undergone specialised training in this evidence-based therapy.
Clinical Expertise
Having worked in government, private practice, and hospital settings, Carolyn has a strong interest in mental health and helping individuals to live their lives in a meaningful and joyful way. Carolyn’s clinical work focuses on helping adults navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, stress, and sleep disturbances. She has a deep interest in supporting military and para-military personnel, drawing from her extensive experience working with these groups. She is working towards her EMDR Consultancy and provides clinical supervision.
With a career spanning senior psychologist and leadership roles, Carolyn has managed large teams of psychologists and administrative staff in state-level positions. Her experience as an Organisational Psychologist includes expertise in recruitment, vocational counselling, career coaching, leadership development, psychoeducation for staff and managers, and counselling for workplace issues.
A Collaborative Approach
Carolyn’s therapeutic approach is rooted in collaboration. She creates a safe, supportive and compassionate space where clients can explore their personal goals, gain self-awareness, and work toward meaningful change. Her client-centred approach ensures that each session is tailored to the unique needs and aspirations of the individual. Whilst her preferred therapeutic modality is EMDR, she also incorporates other modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy (ST), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Carolyn has lived experience with the value of a good supervisor. She uses her collaborative and feedback-informed approach to foster the supervisory relationship and ensure that the supervisee is meeting their own development goals in a compassionate way.
Outside of Work
When she’s not working, Carolyn practices what she encourages in others: maintaining physical health and a balanced lifestyle. She enjoys long-distance running, meditation, travel, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
